The Thunderbolts film is all anyone can talk about right now. After all, its post-credits scene shocked everyone with the hint of what’s coming next. However, one cannot help but wonder if that great post-credits scene has spoiled Marvel's The Fantastic Four film. So, what was there in the end credits scene of the Thunderbolts? And how does it affect the F4 movie?
In the last end credits scene of the Thunderbolts movie, the team discusses Sam Wilson wanting to use the name “New Avengers” for his team. So, he has filed a legal case against them. After all, they were announced by Valentina as the New Avengers during a press conference.
Just then, the computer beeps, and it tells them that a ship is entering Earth. The camera pans to the screen, and we see that the ship has the Fantastic Four’s “4” logo on it. So, what does this mean for the Fantastic Four film?
As per the plot leak on the MCU Theories subreddit, The Fantastic Four film takes place in an alternate parallel retro-modern world. The team is originally from Earth-616 of the MCU, but they get sucked into a parallel universe while exploring in space.
So, it’s possible that what we see in the post-credits scene of the Thunderbolts is the F4 family coming back to Earth 616 after the parallel Earth collapses, possibly due to Galactus devouring it and the Silver Surfer helping him with it. Also, we know from the Avengers: Doomsday cast announcement that all the main four stars of The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be in it.
Thunderbolts* is now available in theaters. The Fantastic Four: First Steps releases on July 25, 2025.
