By Evanshi Mavani / July 28, 2021

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, better known as TenSura, is one of the best-rated isekai anime in the community. It is the go-to series for a good dose of quality action, fantasy, and even slice-of-life. TenSura perfectly balances these genres, and with added character building, it's no wonder why the series is so popular.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime anime is based on a Japanese light novel series with the same title. It also has an original web novel; however, the stories vastly differ after a certain point. The first season of TenSura aired in 2018 with a total of 24 episodes and was received well by the audience. The few issues that popped up were the show's pacing and erasure of essential scenes from the light novel.

Due to its immense popularity, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime’s franchise rapidly expanded with a second season and multiple OVAs and specials. This time, the faults in the first season were not repeated, leaving the fans highly satisfied. Additionally, the second part of TenSura’s season 2 aired in July 2021 and is currently ongoing, making this the perfect time to watch the series.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime narrates the story of a thirty-seven-year-old man ‘Satoru Mikami’ who works as a corporate employee. While losing his consciousness, Satoru hears a strange voice echoing in his mind, telling him something undecipherable.

When he wakes up, Satoru finds that he has been reincarnated in a new world as a slime. While exploring the cave he is in, he befriends a storm dragon, Veldora, and receives his new name as Rimuru Tempest. From there begin Rimuru's adventures out into a new world filled with humans, dragons, and demons!
