After months of rumors and speculations, Sony has finally decided to move forward by revealing new details about the upcoming PS5. The design of the PlayStation 5Â has been presented, which will most definitely leave many of you speechless. There are also new details regarding the DualSense wireless controller, and a whole bunch of new games was announced as well. However, what about PS5's price and release date? Well, Sony isn't quite willing to talk about that just yet.
If you check the PS5's official website, you can see that the console is expected to launch later this year (more precisely, it says - "launches holiday 2020"). This prediction is still the same as when the PS5 was officially announced back in October 2019. However, many things have changed since then, as we've all witnessed how the Coronavirus outbreak changed our daily lives. This leads us to the question of whether the PS5 might experience any delays.
Based on a recent interview published by CNET, the PS5 will launch as planned, later this year. PlayStation's CEO said that manufacturing remains on track despite the Coronavirus pandemic, which is definitely good news for all those waiting to get their hands on the next-gen PS console.
It's also worth noting that several credible websites have mentioned November 20 as the release date of the PS5. As per those rumors, this is when the DualSense controller will launch, priced at $59.99. However, as you can expect, this information is pure speculation at this point. We'll just have to wait for Sony to make an official statement.
As you can see, Sony has provided us with a very flexible release date schedule for its PlayStation 5 console. However, the company hasn't even remotely mentioned how much this console is going to cost. And yes, there are plenty of rumors saying that you can expect the price to go as high as $499.99 - which is $100 more than the launch price of the previous PS generation.
We certainly don't expect any major fluctuations or surprises in terms of the upcoming PlayStation's price. Still, we'd rather wait a couple more months for this information to be officially unveiled.
