Power of the Dream is a new documentary that tells the inspiring true story of how professional women's basketball players took a stand against a WNBA team owner and supported now-Senator, Raphael Warnock, transforming their sport and U.S. politics.

The film focuses on the Atlanta Dream's battle against a sitting U.S. Senator, who was also their team's co-owner, during the Black Lives Matter (BLM)  movement. Their efforts helped elect Senator Rev. Raphael Warnock.

The documentary's story began in 2020 when Senator Kelly Loeffler publicly criticized the WNBA for supporting Black Lives Matter during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the season, played in a bubble called the wubble, the 144 WNBA players, predominantly Black women, were also engaged in a political fight.

The WNBA has a strong history of advocating for social justice. The film took about a year to make. While archival footage was expensive, Sue Bird's fiancée, Megan Rapinoe, donated much of her cellphone footage, especially from key moments like the shooting of Jacob Blake and the WNBA's response on ESPN.
