Best Wireless Mouse of 2020 – Top 6 Wireless Mice Clicking Right Away!

By Dev Gupta / May 2, 2020

Wireless mice are a blessing for those who like an uncluttered work desk. When paired with a high-quality keyboard, an excellent wireless mouse makes your working day seamless and hassle-free. With rapid tech evolution, a wireless mouse can now match its average wired counterpart in both productivity and performance. Plus, they make your tabletop look classier than ever before. So, the only question is - what is truly the best wireless mouse in 2020?

Whether you’re a herculean gamer or a prolific Excel-sheet-scroller, there are plenty of wireless mice that are up to the task. Most models that we have reviewed have negligible lag. They have long battery lives, which means you do not have to keep changing cells every second week. Some even come with additional USB cable support, just in case you run out of battery.

Perhaps the most significant thing about buying a wireless mouse right now is the elaborate variety at hand. Minimalist design, extra (programmable) buttons, ergonomic comfort – everything that you might want your mouse to be – is now available. Besides, the mice we are listing here are good at tracking movements on various types of surfaces. What’s the best part? You can have all of these features without breaking the piggy bank.

So that brings us to our selection of the 6 best wireless mice of 2020.

1. VicTsing MM057

You don’t often come across a relatively less-known brand taking on tech manufacturing giants with a gamut of features and affordability. VicTsing does it with aplomb in the MM057 Wireless Mouse. It comes with six buttons and is compatible with all known platforms and operating systems. From the six buttons available, two of them are programmable. That way, you can do more with the MM057 than the average wired mouse.

Gamers will particularly enjoy the adjustable DPI feature of this model. You can scale it up to 2400 DPI, which is a killer feature for the budget. With the 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, you can use this little genius to control your computer or laptop from up to 15 feet away. The mouse comfortably sits between the palm and the surface, and the soft rubber coating provides excellent support and zero hand fatigue.

The VicTsing MM057 works like a breeze with both PC and macOS. All you need to do is to plug and play. However, the programmable buttons do not work on a macOS. If you work across a range of surfaces and like to carry your mouse around, the MM057 will not disappoint you. Right from glass tops to jeans, the MM057 works on every surface. You never have to carry another mouse pad in your bag.

So, what could be the downside to a wireless mouse that has a low price and seems to ace everything? You might have guessed it. The MM057 is not a gaming mouse – don’t let the extra couple of buttons mislead you. The PixArt PAW312 sensor used in the mouse, despite being an office-grade optical sensor, does not return gaming-grade responsiveness. But the sensor does play a significant role in the optimization of two AA batteries used in the mouse. Thanks to that, and the 8-minute sleep timer, the MM057 goes a long way between battery changes.

2. Logitech M510

The M510 is one of Logitech’s best-performing wireless mice even within their star-studded line-up. While the mouse is physically more protracted than most models, it makes for a better holding experience because of the smaller overall size. The form factor makes it an excellent fit for adults, as well as children. You get a nano receiver with the mouse, and it connects to just about every kind of USB port. So, even if you have an older laptop, you do not need to worry about compatibility.

The mouse operates on AA batteries and comes with intelligent battery-saving features. In case you want to use rechargeable batteries that are a little larger in size, the cavity is spacious enough to let you do that as well. If you are partial toward quieter wireless mice, the M510 will not disappoint you - it is whisper quiet. Even the on/off switch has only a slight click, which you just feel, but never quite hear.

The light on the top of the mouse indicates the ‘on’ status, and it stays lit only for a couple of seconds after switching on. Moreover, the optical sensor feels very smooth and accurate when using, and you can use the programmable keys to create quick shortcuts.

Unlike the VicTsing MM057 we reviewed above, the Logitech M510 is fully compatible with macOS, including the customization for programmable keys. While it can handle basic gaming, it lacks the necessary sensor prowess for high-intensity gaming. Another tricky aspect is the ambidextrous tag. While the mouse is entirely ambidextrous design-wise, the buttons on the side are for right-handers only.

3. Microsoft Precision Mouse

The Microsoft Precision Mouse solves a critical problem for those who feel that most other mice are either ‘too small’ or ‘too large.’ This mouse fits perfectly into the hands of people with small to medium-sized hands. It is a nicely-shaped mouse, fitting the grip of most users. There are extra buttons, too, and they sit high enough on the side not to get accidentally pressed by the thumb.

The forward and backward buttons on the Microsoft Precision Mouse are placed accurately, and there is also a center-side button that opens the Task View by default. The wheel is also significantly more comfortable than many other similarly-priced alternatives. Another small button placed right behind the wheel allows you to control the scroll speed. You can press it once to go from quick scrolling to controlled scrolling.

You do not need to flex or twitch your hands with the Precision Mouse. For those who prefer variety, there are many color options available for this model. With a DPI rating of up to 3200, the Microsoft Surface Mouse lets you do high-precision work with ease. However, it falls short of stringent gaming benchmarks.

Another cool feature of the Precision Mouse is you can use it to scroll horizontally. A small catch there – it doesn’t happen with the wheel, though. You will need to click the scroll button, then physically move the mouse left and right to make that work.

4. Logitech MX Master 2S

The Logitech MX Master 2S is, in many ways, the direct competitor of the Microsoft Precision Mouse. Both of these wireless mice have similar form factors, fit into the same budget, and boast some exciting features. But there are some significant differences, too. To start with, at 10.1 ounces, the MX Master 2S is considerably heavier – more than double the weight of the Microsoft Surface Pro. On the positive side, the same factor gives a sturdy and stable feel when used on any surface.

You can pair the MX Master 2S with up to three devices (Windows or macOS) at a time. While the non-customizable extra weight of the mouse might feel like a negative trait, the rigid, high-quality plastic on the main body gives it a very premium and firm feel. The ergonomics are of the highest quality, too. Whether you employ a palm grip or a claw grip, the mouse just fits in perfectly.

The placement of the side buttons could have been much better, though. That’s a significant issue, especially for children and adult users with smaller hands, who may find them difficult to reach. Unlike other wireless mice that support USB connections as well, the MX Master 2S connects wirelessly only. There is a USB cable, but that’s only for charging. The click latency is also decent - it’s not right up there with dedicated gaming mice, but 20ms is still very low for a decent wireless mouse.

5. Apple Magic Mouse 2

If you are someone who’s primarily a macOS user and travels frequently, the Apple Magic Mouse 2 is a great choice. It epitomizes the ‘sleek and compatible’ build for wireless mice and tops it off with delightful aesthetics. The overall build quality combined with the futuristic look means you will never find anyone complaining about the way it looks. The mouse supports Windows device as wells, but it executes only two essential functions there – left and right button clicks.

The grip type of the Apple Magic Mouse 2 is a fingertip-only grip, and there are both positive and negative aspects to it. First, the negative – if you are a frequent palm or claw grip user, you will find the adaptation slow and painful. Most such users accidentally activate the touch gestures on the mouse, which can be very frustrating. But on the positive side, the mouse can be used smoothly by users of different hand sizes.

Like the Logitech MX Master 2S, this mouse cannot connect to computers via USB cables. The included meter-long cable is only used for charging. The mouse turns off automatically after a period of inactivity, saving you battery. Lastly, keep in mind that you can't use this mouse while charging its battery, as you need to turn it upside down to plug the cable into the appropriate port.

6. Logitech MX Anywhere 2S

The Logitech MX Anywhere 2S is perhaps the best wireless mouse to wrap our list. With a compact form factor, solid ergonomics, and great multi-surface tracking, it is everything that a high-scoring wireless mouse aspires to be. The aesthetics bear the hallmark of the MX series from Logitech all over – compact, sturdy, and travel-ready. The layout is typical for the first three buttons. Then, there is a new boxy button behind the scroll wheel and two additional buttons above the thumb.

Most design characteristics are on point for the MX Anywhere 2S. For example, the charging port is in the center front of the device, making it usable even when it is recharging. A receiver of 2.4 GHz connects the mouse to both macOS and Windows devices. While the Logitech MX Anywhere 2S is not a gaming or a high-performance machine as such, it is good enough for most of the general computing routines.

Logitech MX Anywhere 2S uses a high-quality Darkfield High Precision sensor. This sensor lets the mouse act well while tracking on any surface, from glass to bamboo. The sensor does become a little twitchy on scratched glass surfaces. You could use either the Logitech Options or the Logitech Flow software to customize this mouse. As a whole, it is delightful to work with, has plenty of impressive features, and it's definitely worth its price.
