By Nitish Singh / March 1, 2019

Music enthusiasts are anxiously waiting for Apple’s second-generation AirPods, and recent rumors suggest that the wait will soon come to an end. According to sources at Applesfera, the highly anticipated earphones may go on sale as early as March 29.

The next-gen AirPods will not be the only product that will be announced next month. Reports suggest that two new iPads are set to be announced as well. While the 7th generation iPad’s announcement should come to no one’s surprise, Apple might have plans to revitalize its iPad Mini lineup after a long time. There have been rumors surrounding a smaller tablet that is in the works, and we may receive a confirmation very soon. The AirPower mat that was shown in 2017 may finally be launched in the upcoming event as well.

Applesfera claims that its source is connected with Apple's Asia-Pacific supply chain. The source also showed a screenshot of a supply chain note that states the last date for stocking the current-gen is March 28.

According to what we already know from recent reports, the upcoming second-generation AirPods will come with a new black variant along with the classic white option. A new W2 chipset is also expected in the next-gen AirPods for better Bluetooth connectivity. Apple is also set to offer voice controls and a Qi charging case with the upcoming AirPods.

If you are a first-gen AirPods owner, there’s some good news for you too. Apple is rumored to release a wireless charging case for the first generation AirPods as well. With Apple consistently hosting media events in March each year to announce new products, we can expect an official announcement very soon.
