New PUBG Snow Map Data-Mined, Expected to Release with PS4 Version

By Nitish Singh / November 27, 2018

Popular battle royale game PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) is set to get its next map in an upcoming update. The new ‘Vikendi’ map may release with the PS4 version of the game, that is scheduled for release in two weeks, on December 7. The new map is focused on snowy plains which is quite refreshing compared to the desert and plains-themed maps we already have access to.

YouTuber Allthenewsisgoodnews showcased the data-mined app by recreating it with all the details he picked up from the data. While the foliage and details might not be entirely accurate, it should be a fairly accurate representation of what we can expect. We can definitely expect an update to hit before the holidays are here.

This is not the first time the new PUBG map has been leaked. Recently the PUBG PS4 store description listed the upcoming Vikendi event pass which will offer exclusive items and other bonuses to people who purchase it. If you want to pick up PUBG for the PS4, you will need to pay $30 for the base game for a physical copy. The Digital Looter’s edition costs $30 as well, but it comes with some bonus in-game items. The Survivor’s and Champion’s edition both come with the Vikendi Event Pass, G-Coins and BP for purchasing in-game items.

The map will release for mobile users soon after the PC and console versions receive the update. PUBG was the first battle royale game to popularize the genre for millions of users, but lately, Fortnite took the number one spot. However, PUBG’s mobile version is still leading and is played by millions of gamers all over the world.
