Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Release Date: MBS’ President Gives Fans a Hint

If you're an anime fan who's into the Shonen genre, you've undoubtedly heard about Jujutsu Kaisen. Fans across the world are eagerly awaiting the second season of the popular anime series, and it'll be most surprising if there isn't one and it seems that broadcasting company MBS agrees. In a recent press conference, the President of MBS gave fans some much-needed assurance for the upcoming second season of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 was adapted by the MAPPA Studio, with Sunghoo Park serving as director. Now fans are desperately waiting for a second season. Read on to find out what we know.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Release Date Teased by MBS' president

In a press conference held on January 19, 2022, the president of Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS), Yoichi Muchiaki, stated, "At this time, I'd like you all to wait for us to state a concrete plan. However, I think we can provide a development that will meet expectations."

MBS' programming time block "Super Animeism" aired Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 from October 2020 to March 2021. Is this a confirmation for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2?

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Confirmed by MBS?

While the President Muchiaki of MBS hinted that another season might be in the works, official confirmation for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has not yet been given. In addition, the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie was recently released in Japan, topping charts, and also had a post-credits scene. However, an official sequel has not yet been announced.

Fans, however, should keep in mind that MBS' tease and the post-credits scene in the movie are all signs that a sequel series is in the works! Additionally, seasoned anime fans will know that a movie adaptation is usually brought in to prepare fans for future arcs in upcoming seasons. If you don't believe us, take a look at Demon Slayer, where season 1 was immediately followed by the Mugen Train movie, which continued well into Season 2.

Another reason we believe that a Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will eventually release, is because the anime series right now is too popular not to continue. Thinking from a network exec's point of view, it would be quite a loss to not venture into Season 2, especially since the recently released movie (Jujutsu Kaisen 0) has made a record amount of money already.

Will the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Movie Release in the U.S? What Was the AMC Leak About?

A few days ago, on January 15, the official website for AMC Theaters listed a Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie in their upcoming movies section and then promptly removed it a few hours later. This obviously broke the internet since the website also showed a release date for the movie which was March 18, 2022. However, since an official announcement hasn't been made, the date could very well be wrong.

In Japan, the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie launched on December 24, 2021. As of January 16, 2022, its box office revenue exceeded 8.57 billion Yen. Check out the leak below:
