Why Use a VPN to Watch The Bad Orphan?

Lifetime's upcoming original movie will be available for streaming on Sling TV and Philo in the United States. Unfortunately, due to licensing issues and distribution agreements, these platforms limit access based on your geographic location. Since Philo is a US-only service, you'll need a VPN to stream the movie from anywhere in the world.

For instance, if you attempt to access Philo content outside the US without a VPN, an error message will appear, stating, "Sorry, Philo is only available in the United States… for now.”

Philo Geo Block

Attempting to access Sling TV outside the US will also result in error messages. A speedy VPN connected to a US server will bypass these geo-restrictions by assigning you a US IP address, tricking the platform into thinking you’re streaming from within the United States.

NordVPN is perfect for the job, boasting thousands of super-fast US servers that let you stream without interruptions. With features like specialty servers, 24/7 customer support, advanced threat protection, and robust data security, NordVPN ensures a smooth and safe viewing experience.

Can You Stream The Bad Orphan from Outside Your Country?

As the movie's premiere dates for the UK, Canada, and Australia haven't been revealed, it won't be available in these countries anytime soon. If you attempt to stream it outside the US, you'll run into geo-blocks. But fear not! A trustworthy VPN can help you bypass these barriers and unlock content globally.

How to Access The Bad Orphan in the US for Free

The Bad Orphan will be available on Lifetime in the US on June 22, 2024, at 8 pm ET. US folks can also watch the movie for free on Lifetime's website by logging in with their TV provider credentials.  Alternatively, you can stream the movie on the following services that offer Lifetime:

The psychological drama revolves around Jessica and Karl, a loving couple with their daughter Rhiannon. After years of trying to expand their family, they are thrilled to adopt Gabby, an 8-year-old orphan with some personal challenges.

However, their dream of a perfect family starts to crumble when they realize Gabby is a troubled child. As Gabby's disturbing behavior escalates and secrets come to light, the family's harmony is shattered. Jessica grows increasingly worried that Gabby might be a threat to their family.

The movie is loosely premised on the adoption saga of Natalia Grace. In 2010, Michael and Kristine Barnett adopted Natalia, believing she was a 6-year-old girl. However, they soon grew suspicious of her age, claiming she was actually an adult woman with dwarfism (  a condition known as spondyloepiphyseal), posing as a child with harmful intentions.

The Barnetts alleged that Natalia tried to hurt them and their biological children. They claimed she attempted to electrocute Kristine, poison her coffee, and placed thumbtacks on the stairs. In 2012, two years after adopting Natalia, they successfully petitioned Marion County Probate Court to change her age to 22, altering her birth year from 2003 to 1989.

The following year, the Barnetts moved to Canada with their three sons, leaving Natalia alone in an apartment in Lafayette. After their divorce, Michael and Kristine were charged with neglect of a dependent.
