If you haven't watched the latest episode of Attack on Titan: The Final Season, you should know that the following article contains MAJOR SPOILERS.

Attack on Titan's latest episode was action-free and Eren-less! AOT's Final Season Episode 23 saw the aftermath of the beginning of "The Rumbling." As the wall titans marched away from Paradis Island, we were shown how the island's civilians were dealing with the announcement of global genocide. In addition, we also saw the Yeagerists stir the pot a little bit while Connie and the newly awoken Annie headed off to save their respective families.

The latest episode, titled "Sunset," confirmed what we believed seven episodes ago. It's time to rejoice, for Captain Levi Ackerman is indeed alive! In addition, after a 3-long season wait, Annie Leonhart is finally up and about. The episode begins with Hitch Dreyse unexpectedly reuniting with Annie and helping her escape the ruins of Trost District following the collapse of the Walls and the march of the Wall Titans. On the way, Annie tells Hitch about her life and how she became a warrior, explaining that her only goal is to reunite with her father.

Annie reveals she was awake in her crystal for four years.

One surprising revelation from this conversation was Annie revealing that she was conscious the entire time she was in her crystalized form! She explains how she could hear everything Hitch and Armin spoke to her about in the past years and hence, has been aware of everything happening on the outside. Meanwhile, the Subjects of Ymir in Marley, including Leonhart, face backlash from the guards at the internment zone as they are unwilling to believe that Eren has started "The Rumbling." Keep in mind that only the Subjects of Ymir heard Eren's mass genocide announcement, so most Marleyans are unaware of the imminent threat.

Meanwhile, Armin decides to help Gabi to stop Connie from sacrificing Falco Grice to make his mother human again. While Armin leaves with Gabi, Floch decides to rally the rest of the Yeagerists and strengthen his control over what remains of Paradis Island's military. He also reveals that Eren confided in him about his plan to betray Zeke and start "The Rumbling" ten months ago.

Armin talks to Mikasa before leaving with Gabi.

On the other hand, Connie travels to Ragako with Falco, who thinks the former is trying to help him. While Connie is on his way to make a questionable choice, we are taken outside Shiganshina District, where Marleyan warrior Pieck Finger and General Theo Magath watch Marleyan airships heading towards the mainland. The scene ends with Commander Hange Zoe showing up, explaining that she is unarmed.

We are finally shown a glimpse of the beloved Captain Levi Ackerman for the first time since episode one of the Final Season Part 2! Hange points at the cart behind her, explaining that it holds a person "too stubborn to die." as you can see, a lot happened in the latest episode. Read on to find out when the next one comes out.
