Us humans may have our own holidays to celebrate, but so do the Wookies. This year, we're getting a LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special to celebrate Life Day, and we couldn't be more eager to watch the whole thing on Disney+.
Lego Star Wars fans are invited to Chewbacca's homeland, where Life Day is celebrated in a cheerful and magical way. The special event will reunite Chewie, Rose, Rey, Finn, and Poe, alongside a slew of lovable droids like R2-D2 or BB-8.
Of course, longtime fans will know this isn't the first time we've heard of Life Day, as the holiday was introduced back in the Star Wars Holiday Special of 1978. However, the new event will bring in the wonderful world of Lego and mix it in the regular Star Wars universe.
The special event that Disney+ is prepping takes place after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Rey leaves her friends to prepare for Life Day, and she goes on a new adventure alongside BB-8 to learn more about the Force. She finds herself on a cross-timeline adventure, and she encounters numerous moments in Star Wars history as she comes in contact with Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and other iconic characters.
It remains to be seen whether Rey will make it back for Life Day and whether she'll learn the true meaning of the holiday.
Life Day is a Wookiee tradition that celebrates the values and tenents of their culture - family, harmony, and joy. Life Day is held at the Tree of Life on Kashyyyk and observed by Wookiees everywhere in the galaxy
LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special will debut on Disney+ on November 17th, 2020. New additions are usually up on Disney+ at midnight, so you'll know when to tune in.
One thing you need to be aware of is that LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special is an exclusive Disney+ film. This means you're going to need a subscription with Disney+ if you want to watch it at all.
Endless entertainment from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. Always ad free. Download and Go. Stream Anywhere, Anytime. Exclusive Originals. Sign Up Now. Classic Favorites.
In order to subscribe to the service, you'll have to pay $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year if you live in the United States, or approximately the same in local currency if you live in other countries where Disney+ is available. In the United States, there's also the option of going for the bundle that includes Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ for $12.99 per month.
Either way, you'll get access to loads of Disney content from across the decades, plenty of original shows and movies, as well as Star Wars and Marvel content, plus National Geographic documentaries and docuseries.
Disney+ works on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, smart TVs, Chromecast, Roku, gaming consoles, and also your browser.
Since LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special was created for Disney+, there is no other way to watch the event. There is a slight chance that it might become available on Hulu at one point in the future, but it's unlikely to happen soon.
Also, the special won't be available for purchase, and it's cheaper to subscribe to Disney+ anyway.
