How to Watch ‘Big3 Basketball’ Online – Live Stream the 2019 Season

By Gabriela Vatu / July 3, 2019

For the past few years, the number of ways you get to watch basketball has increased thanks to the Big3 basketball league. If you want to start viewing the Big3 online, you're going to need a bit of guidance, so we're here to help you out.

The Big3 is a professional 3-on-3 basketball league that was founded by Ice Cube, which you may know either as a hip hop musician or an actor, and entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz. Nowadays there are 12 teams that compete against each other, with players coming from the NBA or the international scene.

The 2019 Big3 season kicked off on June 22nd, and it will last through September 1st when the championship round will take place. If you want to watch the games, you're going to have to tune in on Saturdays and Sundays on CBS and CBS Sports Network. You can check out the full schedule on the Big3 official website. Let's learn more about how you can watch the Big3 online.

How to Watch the Big3 Online?

Nowadays, it has become quite easy to watch a lot of content online, but there are some limitations depending on the content you wants to consume. The main issue is with watching live streams and videos because of those fall under licensing deals. This will affect you, for instance, if you are going to travel abroad because when these sites detect your IP address as being from another country than the United States, you're going to get blocked. In order to bypass this blockade, you're going to have to change your IP address to trick the system, so you're going to need to subscribe to a VPN service. We're going to help you figure out how to do that.

Note: One minor detail that we need to discuss is that CBS is a channel that is only available in certain markets, which means that your live TV platform may not be able to provide you with access to it. If that's the case for you, you can use the VPN and follow the above-mentioned steps to simply connect to a server that's located in a different US city, such as New York City or Los Angeles, which are bound to have CBS. When that connection is established, you will then be served with the channels that are available in that specific location.

Can You Watch Big3 Basketball on the CBS Websites?

As mentioned before, Big3 basketball is available to watch on CBS and CBS Sports Network, which means there are two channels we need to address here. The CBS website does not feature a live stream that you can enjoy due to the fact that that they actually launched CBS All Access which is a subscription-based streaming service. As far as CBS Sports Network goes, there is the Sports Network HQ which will give you access to some content. Of course, it's not exactly the same as the actual channel, but you do get some content.

How to Watch the Big3 Without Cable?

In the past few years, there have been a lot of live TV platforms launched, which makes it very easy to enjoy TV online. These platforms are a lot cheaper than cable plans are, which means you're going to save quite a bit of money each month. They're also services that require no contract, which means that you can quit your subscription at any time, without any repercussions. The best part about these platforms, however, is the fact that you can watch your events wherever you maybe when they start, whether that's at home, on the bus, at work, or on vacation. All you need to do is to make sure you have a supported device and an Internet connection. Let's see what your options are.

fuboTV - The first one on our list is fuboTV, which is a great place for sports lovers because there are dozens of dedicated channels available. There is a single bundle available to purchase here, called fubo, which costs $54.99 per month. The bundle features both CBS and CBS Sports Network, so you can easily enjoy all the Big3 games. If you need more content on top of the main bundle, you can add loads of extra packs and several premium networks.

CBS All Access - Next, we have the CBS streaming service that they launched a while back, which cost $6 for the ad-supported version and $10 per month to go without ads. The platform grants subscribers access to load of content, including a live stream and loads of video-on-demand content. Through CBS All Access, you will also gain access to the CBS Sports HQ.

Hulu - We also have Hulu on the list, which is a service we're pretty sure you have at least heard of. The live TV platform comes with a subscription that costs $44.99 per month and includes access to dozens of channels and the full video-on-demand library that Hulu has at its disposal. The list of channels available in the single bundle Hulu has includes CBS and CBS Sports Network so you can watch all the games. There are a couple of customization options available, namely two extra packs and several premium networks such as HBO and Showtime.

YouTube TV - The next item on the list is YouTube TV which is a great single-bundle service that comes with some great features for subscribers, such as unlimited Cloud DVR storage space, which we're pretty sure you're going to appreciate quite a bit. The $49.99 per month service features dozens of channels, including CBS and CBS Sports Network, so you can watch all the Big3 games you want. There are no extra packs for you to add on YouTube TV, but there are quite a few premium networks to add.

DirecTV Now - The next recommendation is DirecTV Now, which is a highly versatile platform that features seven bundles. Two of them, Plus and Max, were added earlier this year, while the other five were given a new name and a new price. CBS is a channel that is available in all seven bundles, but if you're looking for CBS Sports Network, you're only going to find it in three of them, namely Max, Xtra, and Ultimate. DirecTV Now also features several customization options in the form of Spanish channel packs, International packs, and quite a few premium networks as well.

PlayStation Vue - One of our favorite platforms to review was PlayStation Vue, which comes with enough storage space for 500 programs and five simultaneous streams, which is more than we can say about its competitors. There are four bundles to choose from here - Access, Core, Elite, and Ultra. CBS is available in all four bundles, while CBS Sports Network is only available in Core, Elite, and Ultra. If you also want to customize your platform a bit, you can add a couple of channel packs and several premium networks, which may very well come at a better price if you have a PlayStation Plus subscription as well.

Can You Watch Big3 Basketball With a TV Antenna?

Yes, but only in part. CBS is one of the few channels that still broadcast over-the-air, so it's going to be possible to watch the games they feature with the help of a TV antenna, but not those that are broadcast by CBS Sports Network. TV antennas are quite popular with cord-cutters because they are very cheap and you get to watch TV for free once you have one. The only downside that we can think of when discussing TV antennas is that you go from watching hundreds of channels to only a couple of handful.

Before you go ahead and cut the cord to purchase a TV antenna, we would advise you to check a website like NoCable which will help you figure out if CBS is even an option to enjoy over the air in your particular location. Furthermore, the site will also tell you how strong the broadcast signal is for these channels, so you can figure out what range to look for in your device. We have already given you a suggestion, which is a great TV antenna with dozens of great reviews, but you can obviously do your own research on the matter.

We would love to hear all about the platform that you chose to watch the Big3 on, and we are curious about what drove you to this particular option.
