By Samona Punjabi / February 28, 2022

A special Pokemon Presents virtual event was held on Youtube to celebrate the latest Pokemon Day, delivering several special announcements for fans across the world. Furthermore, the event also revealed an upcoming anime series based on the Pokemon Legends: Arceus game! Whether you grew up playing with Pokemon cards or watching the anime series, we all come together to celebrate National Pokemon Day on February 27.

This special reveal has had Pokemon fans beyond excited! In addition to the anime announcement, fans were also notified of some other updates in the world of Pokemon. It seems that the Pokemon Go game is all set to add Alolan monsters to its catalog at long last. Moreover, other games like Pokemon Masters EX and Pokemon Cafe Remix were also updated before Pokemon's Sinnoh remakes confirmed that a Shaymin event was on the horizon.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus features a more open 3D design similar to the Wild Area in the Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield games. The game adds the new Pokemon Wyrdeer, an evolution of Stantler; Basculegion, an evolution of Basculin; and Kleavor, an evolution of Scyther. The game also introduces Hisuian forms of Braviary and Growlithe. Starter Pokemon include Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawatt.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus Anime Series Details, and More!

Pokemon Legends: Arceus launched worldwide for Switch on January 28. The pokemon game takes place in the Hisui region, the past version of the Sinnoh region from the Pokémon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl games. The game also features photography and trainer customization. The story also involves the mythical Pokemon Arceus. The event confirmed that a new major mission titled "Daybreak" would be added. Additionally, the highly anticipated Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were also announced.

As for the upcoming anime series based on the game, the Pokemon Legends Arceus anime series will exclusively be a web series set in the Hisui region, just like the game. Furthermore, the event also revealed an early summer release for the series in Japan. Wit Studio is producing the anime.

The Pokemon Company will announce more details about the project soon.
