What is the plot of Mercy for None?

Nam Gi-jun, once the most feared fighter in Seoul’s criminal underworld, earned his name by leading the Bongsan Gang to dominance through bloody turf wars. But when his younger brother, Nam Gi-seok, rose through the ranks of their rival gang, Joowoon, Gi-jun made a devastating choice—he severed his own Achilles tendon and vanished from the underworld, determined never to raise a weapon against his brother.

Eleven years later, Gi-jun lives quietly, operating a drink distribution business and supplying establishments owned by the very gang he once fought for. That fragile peace shatters when Gi-seok—now Joowoon’s second-in-command—is mysteriously killed just before his planned retirement. Haunted by grief and bound by blood, Gi-jun is pulled back into the violent underworld he once escaped.

With his signature baseball bat in hand and a storm brewing inside him, Gi-jun launches a relentless manhunt to uncover who betrayed his brother—and why. As he navigates a city teeming with old enemies, shifting power plays, and buried secrets, one thing becomes clear: the truth is close, and the path to it will be paved in blood.

In Mercy for None, vengeance isn't just personal—it's inevitable.

Is Mercy For None Based on a Manhwa?

While manhwa series are surging in global popularity—fueling hit anime like Solo Leveling and live-action shows like Sweet Home and Itaewon Class—Mercy for None stands slightly apart. Instead of traditional print manhwa, it’s based on a webtoon, a digital comic format designed primarily for mobile reading

Though webtoons and manhwa share similarities, Mercy for None originates from the web-based Plaza Wars, tailored for online audiences rather than print circulation. So, it’s rooted in the webtoon world, not classic manhwa.
