A significant data breach affecting the Latest Pilot Jobs website has been identified, compromising the personal information of nearly 119,000 users. The initial breach occurred in August 2022. This cybersecurity incident highlights the persistent threat of legacy data being recirculated among malicious actors long after the initial event.
The exposed Latest Pilot Jobs dataset contains a range of sensitive user information. Compromised data points include 118,900 unique email addresses, full names, and usernames associated with accounts on the platform, according to breach monitoring service Have I Been Pwned (HIBP).
More alarmingly, the breach also exposed user passwords that were stored as unsalted MD5 password hashes.Â
The use of the MD5 hashing algorithm without salting is an obsolete and insecure practice, as these hashes can be easily and rapidly cracked using modern computational resources, effectively rendering the passwords as plaintext to attackers.
The dataset recently resurfaced on a popular hacking forum before being included in a larger compilation of breached data. The Latest Pilot Jobs data breach was added to HIBP on October 3, 2025.
Users affected by the Latest Pilot Jobs data breach face a heightened risk of various malicious activities. The exposure of email addresses, names, and easily decipherable passwords makes them prime targets for credential stuffing attacks, where threat actors attempt to use the same login combinations on other websites.Â
Furthermore, the personal information can be leveraged for targeted phishing campaigns and identity theft.Â
Affected individuals are strongly advised to change their passwords on any other service where they may have reused the same credentials and to enable multi-factor authentication wherever possible.
