Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Movie Release Date for the US and Canada Out!
Good news for anime fans, Crunchyroll has officially revealed the release date for the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 anime film! It's been a while since the anime adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen, by mangaka Gege Akutami, came to an end. However, Japanese fans have been lucky enough to keep up with the next phase of the franchise with the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 prequel movie last year.
According to a report by Polygon, the film has earned approximately 9.3 billion yen which is around $81.7 million, making it the 50th highest-earning film in Japanese box office history. In addition, the film has also sold 6.81 million tickets since its initial launch on December 24, 2021. Since the film has been doing so well with its first few weeks in theaters, it's also celebrating its success with a brand new promo! Check it out below.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Release Date and More!
Crunchyroll has officially revealed its plans for the anime film adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, and it's exactly when you think. On January 15, the official website for AMC Theaters listed a Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie in their upcoming movies section, along with a March 18 release date, and then promptly removed it a few hours later. Naturally, fans at the time assumed that this was no coincidence, even though an official announcement hadn't been made.
However, it seems like the rumors were true after all! Jujutsu Kaisen 0 releases in theatres in the United States and Canada on March 18. Tickets go on sale starting February 25 and will be available in English Sub and English Dub versions. In addition to screenings in over 1500 theaters nationwide, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will be released in select IMAX theaters in the U.S. The film has been directed by Sunghoo Park and produced under MAPPA, with Crunchyroll serving as the official distributor in association with Funimation.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will also release soon in countries outside of North America like the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, France with CRG events, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Netherlands, French-speaking Africa, and Latin America. Viz Media's official website has described the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 manga as:
"Yuta Okkotsu is a nervous high school student who is suffering from a serious problem—his childhood friend Rika has turned into a Curse and won't leave him alone. Since Rika is no ordinary Curse, his plight is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where fledgling exorcists learn how to combat Curses. Gojo convinces Yuta to enroll, but can he learn enough in time to confront the Curse that haunts him?"
