How to Watch Queer as Folk Online From Anywhere

By Gabriela Vatu / June 9, 2022

Peacock is bringing back the iconic show, Queer as Folk in a reboot you wouldn’t want to miss. Two decades after the original, Queer as Folk is premiering on Peacock, and it's going to be an emotional rollercoaster.

The bunch of friends featured in the show has to regroup after surviving a mass shooting at Babylon, a queer nightclub. To make the story even more heartbreaking, the show's creator worked with survivors of the Pulse shooting in Orlando, Florida, who told their story of healing, thriving, and persevering. Much like the shooting at Pulse, the event in the show's Babylon leaves survivors trying to cope with the aftermath, finding a way to get back their lives and their way of expressing themselves.

The reboot is much more diverse in terms of storytelling, with relationships seldom seen on screen being put front and center. The original show ran between 1999 and 2000 on Channel 4. Then, Showtime released an American reboot in 2000, which ran for 5 seasons. Hopefully, this new version is going to stick just as long. The new Queer as Folk cast includes Devin Way, Johnny Sibilly, Fin Argus, Jesse James Keitel, CG, Ryan O’Connell, Kim Cattrall, Juliette Lewis, Ed Begley Jr., Chris Renfro, and others.

Queer as Folk premieres on June 9, 2022, and you'll get to watch it on NBC's Peacock streaming service. The show will feature 8 episodes in total.

How to Watch Queer as Folk Online From Anywhere

It shouldn't be too tough to watch Queer as Folk online, as you can subscribe to a streaming service. However, when you travel outside the country, you soon discover that streaming services are all geo-blocked, and you cannot access any of your favorite content. Plus, it works to lift the blockade for services like Peacock, Netflix, Disney+, and others. You can try ExpressVPN for 30 days RISK-FREE as the company has a no-questions-asked money-back guarantee.

You have to start your journey by subscribing to ExpressVPN (49% discount and 3 Months FREE) on its website and choosing the annual plan. Once you create an account and pay for the service, you're good to go. Now's the time to download the app for your devices. How to Watch Queer as Folk in the US

Keeping up with all the episodes of Queer as Folk in the United States is pretty straightforward - you'll need a subscription with Peacock since it is a Peacock Original.

In order to create an account, you just have to fill in the details, pick the desired plan, and pay for it. Of course, there's also the free tier available, but Queer as Folk won't be available without a subscription.

Peacock Premium costs $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year, but you can also go for the Premium Plus tier if you want no ads. This one will cost you $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year. Xfinity, Spectrum, and Cox customers can get the Peacock Premium tier for free.

Peacock works on many devices, including iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, Smart TVs, media streaming devices, and even gaming consoles. The Premium plans give you access to over 60,000 hours of movies and shows, so there's a lot of media to consume. Peacock features content from NBC, as well as Originals, and blockbusters from Illumination, DreamWorks, or Universal Pictures, to name a few.

Peacock is also geo-restricted, so if you're traveling outside the US, you'll notice you can no longer access your favorite shows, including Queer as Folk. A strong VPN will easily bypass any problems, so just power it up and pick a server in the US to make this work.

How to Watch Queer as Folk in the UK

If you're in the UK, you can easily watch the Queer as Folk reboot. Even though Peacock is now available in the UK as part of Sky TV and the NOW streaming platform, it's going to be Starzplay that will stream the show. The service is currently available for £1.99 per month for the first 3 months before going up to the regular £5.99. It's also possible to add Starzplay to your Amazon Prime Video account. However, please note that the show will be available in the UK on July 1, 2022.

If you're traveling abroad, you'll notice that most streaming services are geo-blocked. If you want to lift the restrictions, you'll need a strong VPN; just power it up, and choose a server located in the United Kingdom to watch Queer as Folk on the go.

How to Watch Queer as Folk in Canada

If you're going to watch Queer as Folk in Canada, you can do that via Showcase. The show will premiere on June 26, however, so you'll have to wait a bit.

The show will also be available to stream via the Global TV app, which you can get for free for 7 days. You will, however, have to sign up using your TV provider credentials. You can also watch Queer as Folk by adding Stack TV to Amazon Prime Video for $12.99 monthly after a 30-day free trial. The Prime membership costs $9.99 per month after a generous month-long trial period.

Should you be traveling abroad, you need to use a VPN to access all the content. Just choose a server located in Canada to make this work and power it up before loading your chosen streaming service.

How to Watch Queer as Folk in Australia

Unfortunately, Peacock is not yet available in Australia, but there are alternatives for locals. Queer as Folk will be available to premiere on Stan on June 10. The plans are priced at AU $10, $14, and $19 per month, so you can choose whichever one you like best.

A capable VPN will help you lift geo-restrictions when you're traveling outside Australia. Just make sure you choose an Australian server when you turn on the VPN, and then access Stan to stream Queer as Folk when it premieres.
