G Suite is one of the most used online services by businesses as it offers a number of solutions like video conferencing, team messaging, search engines and more for a single subscription cost. And now, Google is increasing the price of the service by 20% for over 4 million businesses all over the world. The tech giant revealed that even though the number of tools has increased over time, the pricing has always remained the same but to continue offering the same services it will have to increase the prices of both its Basic and Business Edition plans.
Basic Edition account holders will now have to spend $6 per user each month while Business Edition users have to pay $12. The price changes will be applicable globally with regional pricing for various markets. The new prices will be effective for G Suite users from April 2, 2019. Users who have access to Annual plans will not have to pay anything to get their plans upgraded to match the new pricing structure, and the changes will go into effect for them once their plan ends (on or after April 2, 2019). The changes will not affect any users who renew their plans before April 2.
All users who are part of G Suite will receive communication regarding the changes to Google’s pricing structure by February 28. 2019. G Suite resellers will also be informed about the changes regarding the new pricing, and they may reach out to their partners to inform them about the changes. Google published a comparison guide to help users check out the differences between Basic, Business and Enterprise plans in case users want to move to a different plan due to the changes.
