Google Chrome Pixelbook Details Emerge in Multiple New Leaks

By Nitish Singh / September 10, 2018

Google is set to release its new hardware lineup on October 9. Two new Pixel mobile phones are expected along with two new iterations of the Pixelbook powered by Chrome OS. Three new leaks have emerged that suggest that the two laptops dubbed ‘Nocturne’ and ‘Atlas’ will come with detachable keyboards. It is unknown if both variants of the device will release as the latest Chrome OS commits do not mention the Atlas device.

The specs of the upcoming Google Pixelbooks are unknown so far. However, externally the devices are set to include smaller bezels. The laptops will come with circular keys with a chiclet design, that providers spacing between all keys for easier typing. The Pixelbook seems to have taken inspiration from Google’s Material design with rounded corners and a clean design.

The ad showcased how multiple Google Assistant devices together, which hints at possible integration between multiple Google-powered devices in a coming update to the tech giant’s smart assistant. The laptop appeared in a Facebook advertisement for some users and users took screenshots of the ad before it was taken down. There are not many major design differences when compared to last year’s Pixelbook.

The credibility of the leaks can be put to the question, but multiple sources showcasing similar designs indicates that we may very well be set to receive a new Pixelbook device this year if not two. With just a month to go until we see Google’s new lineup of devices, the rumor mills are definitely going to push out more leaks. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL have already been leaked by various sources, and with so many leaks surrounding the upcoming laptop being put out on the internet, we may not have to wait too long until we know what’s in store for us at the upcoming event.
