The U.S. attorney ordered the extradition of the admin of ‘Blackdb,’ who is charged with one count of conspiracy related to access device fraud, among others. Liridon Masurica, 33, from Kosovo, Balkans region of Europe, is accused of using over 15 unauthorized access devices as the lead administrator of the BlackDB[.]cc platform.
Masurica was arrested and taken into custody by Kosovan authorities on December 12, 2024, and was extradited to the U.S. on May 9, 2025. He appeared in court on May 12, 2025 where he was ordered to be held in custody until the pending trial.
Cybercriminals were sold account login details for further abuse on the platform. They also traded in server credentials and sensitive credit card data. The personally identifiable information, along with the other data put up on sale on the cybercrime marketplace place could have facilitated further abuse.
The records sold were primarily of U.S. citizens. The dark web marketplace has been operational since 2018.
Like crafting phishing emails, duplicating documents, identity theft, tax fraud, making false claims, such as for insurance, and more. If proven guilty of the crimes, Masurica faces over 50 years in federal prison, a press release by the U.S. Attorney’s Office reads.
Not much has been revealed about the dark web marketplace. Often, after failed negotiations following ransomware attacks or data exfiltration, disgruntled hackers who have not made any profits turn to dark web marketplaces.
They sell or offer the stolen data for free to vendors on underground forums such as BreachForums. Masurica allegedly coordinated the sale of leaked information from cyber attacks as the admin of the BlackDB platform.
