2020 3M Open: Live Stream, TV Channel, How to Watch PGA Tour at TPC Twin Cities

By Gabriela Vatu / July 22, 2020

The 3M Open is just around the corner, and we cannot wait to see this next leg of the PGA Tour golf tournament. We actually plan on watching the event online, so let's figure out how you could be doing the very same thing with little to no effort.

The 3M Open is one of the most recent PGA Tour tournaments added back in 2019. In last year's event, Matthew Wolff was the one to win. The event takes place at the TPC Twin Cities Course in Blaine, Minnesota.

The prize fund for the event is $6.4 million, and the winner will take home over $1.1 million. It's obviously high stakes, and there's going to be some real competition to keep us entertained during the event.

Will the 3M Open Have Spectators?

The 3M Open, alongside the PGA Tour, has announced that the 3M Open will not have any spectators. This is following the current Minnesota state guidelines in place due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Therefore, at least this year, you're going to watch the 3M Open on your favorite device from your home. As annoying as this can be to some golf fans, it's something that simply needs to happen in order to keep everyone safe.

Who's Going to Participate in the 3M Open?

We're going to see quite a few big names in the 3M Open this weekend, and you can find out exactly who's going to participate so that you can know who to expect on the course.

How Can I Watch the 3M Open Online?

Nowadays, it's easier than ever to keep up with your favorite sports events and shows worldwide because there are loads of live TV platforms available to help you. All these services will allow you to watch your favorite channels over the Internet as long as you have a strong Internet connection and a mobile device. One of the best platforms to enjoy watching Golf Channel and CBS on is fuboTV.

Unsurprisingly, this service is also one of the best on the market when it comes to watching sports because it was initially meant for this particular purpose before expanding and adding more entertainment options as well.

On top of the plans, you can choose between (depending on which channels are your favorite and how many customization options you want to be attached), you can customize the subscription yourself by adding any channel packs or premium networks that interest you.

There are also add-ons available to expand the cloud DVR storage space capacity or the number of simultaneous streams permitted on your account.

Note
CBS broadcasts in select markets only. If you happen to live in an area where you do not get coverage, you can use a VPN to connect to a server nearby to access all the channels available in that specific area, including CBS. Click here to find out more details.

Other Ways You Can Watch the 3M Open Online

fuboTV may be one of the best options, but it's not the only one. You can also subscribe to these awesome TV services to enjoy watching the 3M Open and many other sports challenges, as well as other types of content.

Hulu - On Hulu, you will find loads of cool channels to watch, including CBS and Golf Channel. There is a single bundle here, but you can add several channel packs and premium networks if you want even more content.

One of the cool things about Hulu is that when you subscribe to the Live TV service, they also give you access to the On-Demand library, so you basically have two platforms. Start your free trial on Hulu now!

Sling TV - Sling TV is another option if you want to watch the 3M Open online. There are three bundles here, and you can choose the ones you like best. You do have to keep in mind that the Orange bundle only gives you one stream to enjoy, the Blue bundle provides three of them, and the Orange + Blue bundle offers four simultaneous streams.

You can also add any other channel packs or premium networks you want, and you will specifically need to add the Sports pack, as that's where you will find the Golf Channel. CBS is not part of the offering on Sling TV. Watch 3 Days Free on Sling TV Now!

How Can I Watch the 3M Open When Traveling Outside of the United States?

If you're hoping to watch the 3M tournament from abroad, you should know that you will need a little bit of extra help because live TV platforms and streaming services in the United States are geo-blocked. So you won't be able to access them as easily as you do at home, as your IP will give away your actual location. To bypass this whole problem, you need to change your IP address so that you appear to be in the United States rather than anywhere else.

A VPN will change your IP in a matter of seconds by routing your internet connection through the foreign servers they own. Our recommendation is to go for ExpressVPN, which is easily one of the best on the market today, featuring dozens of servers all over the world and some great privacy features.

ExpressVPN has a 30-day money-back guarantee policy, so if you have any problems with your account, you can always ask for a refund with this time frame. Given our experience with the service, we don't think that's going to be an issue - nonetheless, you have that backup.

You simply have to subscribe to ExpressVPN (49% OFF), set up an account, and choose a server from the United States once you sort out the apps for your devices.

Can I Watch the 3M Open With a TV Antenna?

Watching the 3M Open with a TV antenna is actually possible, but it's only going to be for the weekend rounds, as only CBS broadcasts over-the-air.

We think that you should visit a site like NoCable to find out what channels are available over-the-air in your location and how far the broadcast stations are from your home. The last bit of information should come in handy as you decide which device to buy.

Make sure you also check the antennas we listed above in case any of them fit your requirements.
