  1. I updated to Kodi 17.4 but nothing plays. I get all the way to choosing something but nothing plays. I don’t know if I need to uninstall and reinstall or what? (I’m unsure of how to uninstall if I needed to).

    • There are many causes of this issue. However, we don’t believe there’s an issue with Kodi, which means that you don’t have to uninstall or reinstall it. First, we recommend updating drivers on your computer. You need to be sure that your computer is capable of playing HD video, which means that you need to have the latest drivers installed. In addition, download codecs from the Web, as well.
We would also like to refer to you to our Kodi Troubleshooting Guide: https://www.technadu.com/kodi-troubleshooting-guide/8414/. This is where you’ll find plenty of possible solutions.

    • In our experience, Kodi is a very stable and reliable application. However, we understand that a certain portion of Kodi users are experiencing issues. If the latest version of Kodi isn’t working for you, maybe you should try a development build. Go to the Download section on Kodi’s official website, pick Windows, and download the Nightly build.

  2. what OS. are you running KODI on? Android, Mac, Windows, Firestick, etc ………………I use android and just upgraded to 17.4 last night and it runs much smoother than 17.3.

  3. Still having issues…not crashing anymore but, instead freezes while browsing for movies when selecting info, play, etc
Extremely frustrating having to uninstall and reinstall kodi. Please tell me you have some other options/suggestions you can offer as a remedy??

    • If Kodi is freezing while browsing the main menu (even before playing a file), you should first check out your computer’s specifications. Make sure your computer is capable of running and playing videos via Kodi.

Next, we recommend taking a look at our Kodi Troubleshooting Guide. You’ll find a link to the Indigo add-on there, which can be used as a maintenance tool. Clear out cache, delete unneeded files or even restore Kodi to its original settings. We hope this will help you resolve the issues you’re experiencing.

    • First, we recommend checking if your Android Box is capable of running the latest version of Kodi. Since this application doesn’t need a high-end device, you should be fine. Then, make sure you’re using the latest version of Kodi. If that’s not the case, upgrade the application.
Finally, we recommend inspecting video playback settings. In many cases, Android Boxes have a hard time streaming 1080p content. Try to find an option that allows you to stream 720p videos only.

  4. I’ve done everything got 17.5 absolute garbage nothing works “no stream available ” too bad kodi used to be good now just a waste of time cannot even go back to 17.4 the only thing on their download page it the 17.5 garbage!

    • It seems like you’re facing a bug that prevents Kodi from playing media files. If you’d like to install Kodi 17.4 – that is entirely possible. Follow this link to download older versions of Kodi for Windows: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/releases/windows/win32/. This is Kodi’s official webpage, so you don’t have to worry about downloading malware-infected files.
