Google has Shipped 10 Million Google Cardboard VR Headsets from 2014

Google Announced on its blog that it had shipped worldwide more than ten million virtual reality viewers since it was launched back in 2014. The Company proudly says the Mobile VR are not only for gaming but also for amazing entertainment experiences that immerse you.

The Simple and Affordable cardboards have 160 million apps on Google Play growing tremendously since it had only 1000 apps and shipped 5 million cardboards back in 2016. Over 30 apps have been downloaded over a million times each.

Google shared that the lesson learned from cardboard was useful to built Daydream making it far more comfortable, interactive. Now people are spending about 40 minutes per week in it.

DayDream-ready phones and 100 Daydream apps to explore is quite paying off. People mainly focuses on Video in VR. Since google has quite a good amount of 360 videos and it tops the Daydream apps list based on time spent and the total number of users.

Along with it, Google also announced it is currently working on some cool new VR and AR apps for bringing Premium VR video content. Sky Vr one of its partners includes some immersive videos like “Star Wars: Red Carpet,” “Anthony Joshua—Becoming World Champion,” and clips from Disney’s “The Jungle Book.”

Adding three new apps to Tango - The Sims, Chelsea Kicker, and WSJ AR.

Tango technology powers devices that help you bring virtual objects into your world, and now three new augmented reality (AR) experiences are available. The Sims app lets you use your phone with Tango technology to travel around the Sims house; Chelsea Kicker puts a Chelsea football player right in your space, so you can take your picture with him or even try to best him at a few soccer tricks; and WSJ AR lets you visualize stock trends.
